TeamLinkt is a well-liked team and league management app. It has good communications, a clean mobile app, payment collection, and scheduling built in, with a free plan for organizations. If you run a small recreational league and want chat, payments, RSVPs, and a weekly schedule in one place, TeamLinkt does that well, and it's a better fit than Big Sports for that job.

This page is for leagues whose scheduling has become the hard part.

Where the two differ

TeamLinkt's scheduler covers a lot of what a typical league needs: blackout dates, venue availability, home and away balance, and keeping a coach from being double-booked. Big Sports is only a scheduler, so it goes further in that one area.

  1. More of the rules your league actually has. Rest days between games, limits on games per week and per day, families with kids on more than one team, officials' availability, and travel limits (the last few on Plus). If your rule isn't on the list, describe it in plain English and Smart rules builds it, then shows you which of your real games it would flag before you accept it.
  2. Built for the rest of the season. Postpone a rained-out game and pick from up to three make-up slots that fit your rules, while the rest of the season stays put. When you drag a game by hand, the grid shows you whether the new slot causes a conflict before you let go. Regenerate the unlocked games when you need a bigger reshuffle, and review what would move before you keep it.
  3. A schedule you can explain. Every game's slot comes from your rules, and every change is saved with a name and a time on it. When a coach asks why their team drew three straight 8am starts, you have an answer.

What Big Sports doesn't do

We don't make a team chat app, collect payments, or have a mobile app for parents. Parents get a public schedule page that works well on a phone, and a calendar feed they can subscribe to. If you need chat, payments, and RSVPs in one product, TeamLinkt's bundle is the better choice.

When to switch

A good sign is a spreadsheet on the side. If you've started keeping one to track the rules your current scheduler can't, and it has quietly become the real schedule, that's the job Big Sports is built for.

Pricing

Big Sports has a Free plan too, capped at one division and ten teams per season, with a watermark on public schedules. Plus is $79/mo or $790/yr and covers unlimited teams, venues and surfaces, every rule type, Smart rules, and public pages in your own colors with no watermark. Running more than one division?
